Not Stoplight

   Posted by: admin    in Uncategorized

Focus on the Family’s weekly internet program, Stoplight, came out with an episode asking people to pray for rain on Obama’s speech.  I wanted to show that not all Christians are Republican and there’s nothing wrong with that, enjoy…

Burn After Reading(2008) - A Review

   Posted by: admin    in Uncategorized

I’m definitely late on seeing this film as I’ve wanted to since it hit theaters.  However, I would be lying to you if I were to say that I wasn’t disappointed in there follow up to the brilliant No Country for Old Men.  There just wan’t much to Burn After Reading.  It was funny and well written, yes but it was also bland.

The performances weren’t awful but they almost seemed forced and even “cheesy.”  Sadly, the best way to sum up the story would be as follows: A handful of people, all of whom are sleeping around with each, are brought together by a mysterious disc that supposedly holds top secret files.  It could have been done better but according to me, it wasn’t.

This film was well shot and well put together.  The problem is that the story can’t compare to the Coen’s past masterpieces Fargo, The Big Lebowski, No Country for Old Men or The Man Who Wasn’t There.  Burn After Reading is worth seeing but see those films before you even think about this one!

Saw V(2008) - A Review

   Posted by: admin    in Uncategorized

This is my first review on this site.

Every year, the Friday before Halloween, Lions Gate blesses us with releasing another addition to the wonderful franchise that is Saw.  We get force fed practically the same exact movie except with different characters.  There truly is no other reason to continue making these films other than the fact that they’ll make a good buck at the box office.  Teenie boppers are still dishing out the dough for a series that was dead as soon as the first film ended.

Putting the story, or lack thereof, into words would be almost too easy.  It really feels like the writers just gave  up and realized they were gonna make money so to hell with it!  The acting is no better, I probably could have put more depth to a character when I was in third grade.  It really wasn’t even that gory which pissed me off because I was promised the goriest of the series.  And my biggest problem would be the dialog, it’s God awful!

Don’t support this film, I watched it for free online and am very thankful that I didn’t pay for the $7.50 ticket.  One can only hope that the general public realizes that the Saw franchise should have been dead four films ago.  The first film was fantastic but Saw V is simply put, a disgrace to film and filmmakers alike.

The last word:  1/10 stars.
