The Village(2004) – 10/10. A brilliant and thrilling film that most people missed the point of. It’s really a shame that America is so unintelligent.
Year One(2009) – 1/10. I am 100% serious when I say that this is the worst movie I have ever seen. The story goes no where, the acting is atrocious and it made me hate actors that I have enjoyed very much in the past.
Land of the Lost(2009) – 8/10. I usually agree with the critics on everything. This is an example where I disagreed wholeheartedly. Land of the Lost is great because it’s a b-movie and it knows full well that it’s a b-movie. Will Ferrell and Danny McBride have wonderful chemistry.
Lady in the Water(2006) – 10/10. Another brilliant film from Shyamalan that the majority did not understand. You need to see it.
Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen(2009) – 2/10. Well, Michael Bay has done it again. Another terrible movie with no story and all special effects. I truly hope he realizes that he is a hack filmmaker and stops trying immediately.
The Violent Years(1956) – 2/10. It is written but not directed by Ed Wood. While Ed Wood’s direction was undeniably awful, it had a huge sense of fun. This film is missing just that.
The Day the Earth Stopped(2008) – 1/10. I like C. Thomas Howell, but he shouldn’t be directing. This movie is a shameless rip off and nothing else. Absolutely terrible!
Death Valley: The Revenge of Bloody Bill(2004) – 2/10. With a tagline like “the south has risen… from the dead!” you know you’re in for a miserable film. This one is great to watch and make fun of.
Martyrs(2008) – 4/10. I was told that scenes in this movie were as hard to watch as Cannibal Holocaust. This is simply not true. Martyrs is basically the french version of Hostel. While there were scenes that made me cringe, the plot is so absurd that I simply was left feeling angry at the writers.
Kindergarten Cop(1990) – 8/10. A hilarious performance but Arnold and a pretty cohesive plot make this one of my favorite comedies.
Signs(2002) – 10/10. One of my all time favorite movies. I will never understand the hate for this one. Brilliant and flawless writing.
Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines(2003) – 7/10. It’s pretty good but it comes no where near the amazement of the first two films. I truly laughed out loud at some of the lines in this one.
Raiders of the Lost Ark(1981) – 10/10. The best of the Indiana Jones series and a candidate for the best adventure film ever made. Ford is terrific!
Night of the Ghouls(1959) – 8/10. A so-bad-it’s-good masterpiece. Ed Wood had no idea what he was doing but somehow it worked. The acting, story and effects are as bad as it gets. This movie is a blast.
Tall Tale(1995) – 8/10. A fun and underrated Disney film. It’s a lot of fun to watch with the whole family.
Star Wars(1977) – 10/10. Forget the special edition, the original theatrical version is the greatest version of the film. This is sci-fi gold.
Mean Streets(1973) – 8/10. A very good early film from Scorsese. Robert De Niro’s performance is supberb.
Goodfellas(1990) – 10/10. Another classic Scorsese picture. There’s something about mob movies that I love and I can’t stop watching them. This is one of the best.
Drag me to Hell(2009) – 10/10. I saw this one again and it’s just as good the second time. Everyone should be required to see it.
Five Minutes to Live(1961) – 5/10. This could have been a great movie if it wasn’t for a horrible cop-out ending. However, it’s still worth watching for Johnny Cash’s very memorable performance.
The Empire Strikes Back(1980) – 10/10. The best of the Star Wars films. A very dark and sinister film with a near perfect storyline.
The Hangover(2009) – 6/10. The Hangover is ok but doesn’t come anywhere The Apatow films. I think the biggest problem with this film is that all of the good jokes were shown in the preview. However, Mike Tyson was great!
Return of the Jedi(1983) – 10/10. The perfect final chapter of an unforgettable trilogy. It’s really too bad that the prequel trilogy can’t even compare.
